Step aside stuffy martinis! Straight on the heels of last night’s presidential debate is our first official #JoinTheCocktailParty recipe! The Cocktail Party Redneck Martini | Dirty Beertini! Shared with us by an engineer named Dan, not Joe the Plumber, we just had to try it!
This cocktail makes me think of Jeff Foxworthy (You MIGHT be a Redneck) and Larry the Cable Guy! Speaking of cable, have enough of these and even a presidential debate won’t get y’all riled up! Not even when it “trumps” The Voice, which borders on breaking the current peace treaty between me and politics!
What’s the best part of this Cocktail Party Redneck Martini | Dirty Beertini? Well for starters, It uses Beer, it’s easy, and salty olives, SCORE!
What’s the best beer for this Cocktail Party Redneck Martini | Dirty Beertini? Our choice is PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon). That American Tradition hailing from Milwaukee since 1844. Who knew that we, the “Life’s too short to drink cheap beer” snobs would take a real liking to PBR last summer!? Restaurants in Colorado have it on tap everywhere! So, I’m not sure if our new found favorite beerness is because we really DO want to retire someday (It’s CHEAP at $18 for 30 on sale at Molly’s Spirits); or maybe it’s the rumor that PBR is the domestic beer with the highest alcohol content that led us to that conclusion? Either way, we like PBR and we’re not apologizing. Don’t judge. And for the olives and juice, it’s gotta be Mezzetta Martini Olives marinated in vermouth—NOW we’re gettin’ our beertini on! Right Zac Brown?
Quite frankly I’d never heard of the Redneck Martini | Dirty Beertini before; which is a little crazy since I thought I knew my beerverages…
When I lived in Pueblo, Colorado they had the “setup”–A glass of ice with a salted rim and a lime for your beer. In Mexico they have the Michelada—Beer with tomato juice and spices, also known in the US as a Bloody Beer; and the Chavela, a Mexican alcoholic beverage that calls for beer, tomato juice, tequila, salt and hot sauce. Then there’s Jimmy Buffet’s sister Lulu’s restaurant in Alabama that tops off your Landshark lager with a shot of Bacardi Limon (my personal fav). And now, the Cocktail Party Redneck Martini | Dirty Beertini. Mark my words, this one is going to take the country by storm…I smell a write in candidate coming!

Cocktail Party Redneck Martini | Dirty Beertini Recipe
- 1 can Pabst Blue Ribbon beer
- 2 Mezzetta martini olives marinated vermouth
- 1 T olive juice from said olives.
In tall beer glasses, drop in 2-3 olives and about a tablespoon of olive juice (to taste).
Pour in the beer. We like to pour it slowly along the inside of the glass so it doesn't foam.
Stir gently to get the olive juice blended.
