Today Is Toasted Marshmallow Day! Celebrate with these amazing Double Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Smores! Plus, Labor Day is coming up and I know there is going to be a campfire somewhere!
An invention only a kid could think up, these Double Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Smores are THE BOMB! Even the adults ate ourselves sick while the kids ran on a sugar high until well after midnight! So find some time to make these awesome twist on a throwback treats this coming Labor Day weekend!
Just when you think summer’s over for the kiddies, here come the great nephews and a niece who hail from the Northern Mid West where school doesn’t start until after Labor Day. Deidrick, Skyler & Landen arrived in the middle of the night with their mom and stepdad after a last minute decision that led to an adventurous road trip which included a trip through the great Mt. Rushmore!
A first cross country road trip for these kiddos aged 15, 10 and 8 and their first time to Colorado! It’s been a wild ride for them all weekend long thanks to their Aunty (Dr. Double Portions) who has pulled out all the stops and all the toys for their visit! She is the Executive VP of travel and entertainment after all. From trying new foods to riding in and behind a boat for the first time—tubing and paddle board surfing—these crazy kiddos have livened up the house for the last few days and then some!
One of our highlights of their trip was last night’s campfire where this new Double Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Smores was born. At least for us old folk, it was a whole new S’more type. From what the kiddos say it might be old news for the old folks but hey, we’ve NEVER heard of a s’more that uses dark chocolate! Cuz’ the dark chocolate part being good for you must certainly negate all the bad for you parts, right?!
So checkout our Double Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Smores HOW TO video starring my Great (and Great) Nephew Deidrick, budding chef and improv comedian! Straight from the campfire…
