There ain’t no measures in Pegg’s Perfect Sausage Gravy N Eggs recipe, sweeties! Y’all just gotta play with yer food! I’m here to tell ya kids, I’ve never had such perfect scrambled eggs in my life! Perfect tasting and perfectly cooked! Pegg makes her perfect scrambled eggs in a double boiler of all things, and you’ve just got to see it to believe it! So fluffy and gorgeous and EGGcellent!
My friend Pegg is a hoot and a half and the ultimate cook. Pegg’s Perfect Sausage Gravy N Eggs are no exception! She’s the only person who’s ever made lamb that I actually ate, and liked—even though I still feel guilty about it. I am a carnivore but I prefer not to eat baby animals– Now you see why I could never be a CHEF–There ARE some things I just can’t eat!
Aaaanyway, Pegg also taught me how to make Yorkshire pudding—did YOU know it isn’t really pudding? She would be horrified to know that the sausage gravy I usually make is of the cheater variety that starts with a packet of powdered “gravy mix” to which, I add sausage so it looks like I made it from scratch! How do they make powdered lard you ask? I’m pretty sure they don’t! Which is why honestly, after making Pegg’s Perfect Sausage Gravy N Eggs with her, I’d have to say that it’s worth the extra time AND calories! Praise the Lard! Sometimes you’ve just gotta give in to temptation, Cinners!
Pegg is a piece of work! She’s been to Broadway and beyond and knows the words to probably every song, pre-1980. Sarcasm IS her best friend—Double Portions (DP) and I come second.
She lives up in the mountains of Colorado in a tiny little town in her little log cabin with her cute corgi, Ernie.
Ernie likes to cook too! In fact just last week he whipped up a batch of eggs for Pegg—scrambled those babies right on the floor! Pegg was so proud. We’re considering asking him to guest blog on Cinfully Simple! 😉
Truth be told, I wish Pegg would blog a bit herself because she’s a freakin’ riot! Pegg’s got so many great stories that she really should have written a book about her life—or someone should write it for her—Calling all ghost writers.
DP and I love our time hanging out with Pegg because she makes us laugh—something we always need to do more of! You’ll see what I mean when you take a look at this video of her specialty, Perfect Sausage Gravy N Eggs.
The funniest part about filming this video was that Pegg refused to let us show her face on the camera so it’s all hands and skillets! But DP had ideas of her own and took some creative liberties during the editing process. Watch and wait and you’ll see what I mean. I took some liberties as well. Close your eyes, Pegg!
Pegg’s Perfect Sausage Gravy N Eggs demonstrates good ol’ fashioned cooking at its best with a bit of creativity and a lot of LARD mixed in—#PraiseTheLard! I’m not gonna tell you how old my friend Pegg is, but I’ll tell you this, she didn’t get to be her age eating like a rabbit! So this is one of those times when we are throwing caution to the wind and weight loss to the super models and taking a chance with some serious eats instead.
Pegg’s Perfect Sausage Gravy N Eggs puts the FLAV in flavor and was so good we all went back for #DoublePortions! I was so full I didn’t eat again until dinner! It’s stick to your ribs—and probably your arteries—kind of food that you just don’t get every day. So live it up!
It’ll make YOU wanna shout “PRAISE THE LARD!”
P.S. I lied – there is SORT OF a recipe card for Pegg’s Perfect Sausage Gravy N Eggs. And here it is…
